Alontae Taylor, the Titans’ cornerback, was listed as inactive for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, a team source told ESPN. The decision was made by the coaching staff and was not related to an injury.
The Titans entered the game with Taylor on the inactive roster, a move that came after the coaching staff finalized the lineup. The source confirmed that the player was healthy and that the decision was purely strategic.
Sunday’s matchup saw the Titans travel to face the Colts, with both teams preparing to battle for a spot in the playoffs. The absence of Taylor will leave the Titans’ secondary with one fewer player available for defensive coverage.
Because the decision was not injury‑related, the Titans will need to rely on their depth at the cornerback position for the remainder of the game. The coaching staff’s choice underscores the importance of roster management in the NFL’s high‑stakes environment.
