Doctors at the newly opened clinic say they are treating patients as young as 13 who have developed severe bladder damage after using ketamine.
Ketamine is a drug that can cause a painful condition known as ketamine bladder syndrome. The clinic is the first and only facility in the United Kingdom dedicated to diagnosing and managing this condition in young people.
Patients describe the pain and urinary problems as “peeing a jellyfish.”
The clinic offers a multidisciplinary approach to help children recover from the damage and manage the long‑term effects of the condition.
