The Forum of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Federal Parastatals has named Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, as its patron and announced a pledge to mobilise 10 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
The decision was made when a 20‑member delegation of the forum paid a courtesy visit to Akume in Abuja. A statement signed by Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, Chairman of the Publicity Committee, was released to the press on Saturday.
In the statement, Dr Kazeem Raji, Chairman of the forum and Director‑General of the National Board of Technology Incubation, said the appointment recognised Akume’s “leadership, experience and contributions to coordinating government institutions.” He added that the forum would support Tinubu’s re‑election through “lawful, peaceful and issue‑based engagement.”
“We recognise the enormous responsibility you carry at the centre of government,” Raji said. “Your diligence, discretion and statesmanship in supporting President Bola Tinubu and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda are commendable.”
Ajiboye confirmed that the forum would provide “channels for citizens’ concerns and feedback” and would communicate government policies, programmes and achievements. He described the CEOs as the “real work engine” of the administration and said the forum’s political engagement objectives had been outlined ahead of the 2027 election.
Responding to the appointment, Akume expressed appreciation, describing it as a privilege and a call to greater service. Represented by Permanent Secretary Augusta Warrens, he pledged continued support for stronger inter‑agency cooperation and for enhancing the efficiency of public institutions. Akume also urged the forum to do more in communicating government achievements and addressing disinformation.
