The pact, which brings together the U.S., Denmark and Greenland, was formalised in a ceremony held a week ago. It is intended to enhance the security posture of the North Atlantic region and the broader United States‑led alliance.
Greenland, an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, has long been a strategic location for NATO and the United States. The new agreement is expected to build on existing defence arrangements in the Arctic and Atlantic theatres.
