The All Progressives Congress candidate Engr. Usman Maijama’a Kallamu won the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency bye‑election held on Saturday, 19 September 2026.
Kallamu polled 41,121 votes, defeating candidates from other parties. The Labour Party received 3,553 votes, the Allied Peoples Movement 872, and the New Nigeria Democratic Party 707.
The election was organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to fill the vacancy left by the death of former member Hon. Yaya Bauchi Tongo.
A total of 47,301 votes were cast, of which 46,551 were valid and 750 were rejected.
The vote took place across 903 polling units in 31 registration areas covering Gombe, Kwami and Funakaye local government areas. The INEC results portal lists the polling‑unit result sheets for the bye‑election.
With his victory, Kallamu will represent the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
