BBC Radio 2 has announced that television presenter Angela Scanlon will take over the station’s flagship drivetime slot, succeeding Sara Cox. The change will see Scanlon front the popular evening programme that runs during the peak commuting hours.
Scanlon, known for her work across television and radio, will become the new voice of the drivetime show, which has traditionally attracted a large national audience during the weekday 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. slot.
In a separate move, Radio 2 also confirmed a new presenter for its dedicated country‑music programme, following the departure of veteran broadcaster Bob Harris. The station has not yet disclosed the identity of the incoming host.
