Nigerian employers can use artificial intelligence and workforce analytics to curb rising staff turnover and stem the migration of skilled professionals, a People Analytics expert, Kemisola Kasali, said.
Kasali explained that AI tools can sift through employee data to spot patterns and predict who is most likely to leave, enabling companies to intervene before departures become inevitable.
Staff turnover has been on the rise across Nigeria, a country that is Africa’s most populous nation and a growing hub for skilled labour. Many professionals are leaving for better opportunities abroad or in other sectors.
According to Kasali, by adopting AI‑driven analytics, firms can identify the underlying causes of attrition—such as workload, compensation, or career development gaps—and address them proactively.
Employers who implement these technologies may retain talent, strengthen their workforce, and ultimately benefit the broader Nigerian economy.
