Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, has provided insight into his decision to substitute Samuel Chukwueze during Nigeria's crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier match against Madagascar.
Chelle replaced Chukwueze with LASK forward Moses Usor, who scored the winning goal for the Nigerian team in their 2-1 victory against Madagascar on Friday.
"It was a tactical decision because, as you know, he finished the first half well," Chelle said.
"So I felt he was a little bit tired, and I wanted to bring some energy into the team," he added.
Nigeria's next match will see them face Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday.
