Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle praised goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali for his performance, highlighting a crucial save in the second half that helped keep the scoreline in Nigeria’s favour.
Nwabali did well because they had a chance to score a goal, but Nwabali at this moment practically was very good.
Chelle said the goalkeeper “did well” and that his actions were pivotal in the match. Nwabali will aim to keep his place between the posts as Nigeria prepare to face Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday.
The win keeps Nigeria’s hopes alive in the 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign, with the next fixture against Guinea-Bissau looming.
