47 Arrested with Guns during Bauchi Bye-election - Police
Police in Bauchi State have arrested 47 suspects who were allegedly carrying guns and cutlasses during the Disina State Constituency bye-election on Saturday, according to a statement from the state police command.
The police command spokesperson, DSP Kamal Ali, revealed that the suspects were apprehended as a result of the security measures put in place to ensure a peaceful election.
"The suspects were arrested during the election, as they were caught with dangerous weapons that could have caused chaos and violence during the election," Ali said.
The spokesperson assured the public that the police are committed to maintaining law and order during the electoral process.
"We are committed to ensuring that all electoral processes in Bauchi State are conducted in a peaceful and safe environment," Ali added.
