Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) generated a combined internal generated revenue (IGR) of N5.15 trillion in 2025, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) announced today.
The figure represents a 40.93 percent increase from the previous year, signalling a substantial rise in state‑level revenue collection across the country.
Lagos State alone contributed more than one‑third of the total revenue, underscoring its position as the country’s economic powerhouse.
