PDP chieftain Oluwole Oluyede has partnered with Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji to back President Bola Tinubu’s campaign for a landslide victory in the state ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.
Oluyede, a senior figure in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), announced the collaboration with Governor Oyebanji, who governs Ekiti, to mobilise support for Tinubu across the state.
The joint effort is aimed at delivering a decisive win for the incumbent president in Ekiti, a southwestern state that has historically been a contested arena between the ruling All Progressives Congress and the PDP.
Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, is preparing for the 2027 election in which President Tinubu, first elected in 2023, is seeking re‑election. The alliance between a PDP heavyweight and an APC governor underscores the strategic importance of Ekiti in the upcoming vote.
Both Oluyede and Oyebanji have called on party members, local officials and voters to rally behind Tinubu, signalling a coordinated push to secure the anticipated landslide in the state.
