Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike announced on Friday that he will personally inaugurate and lead the campaign machinery for President Bola Tinubu’s re‑election bid in the FCT and Rivers State.
Wike made the statement while inspecting the ongoing construction of Phase Two of the Kuje‑Gwagwalada road dualisation project, a key infrastructure initiative along the Kuje‑Gwagwalada artery in Abuja.
“The ruling All Progressives Congress APC, I believe, is putting itself together for an aggressive campaign. For us who are supporting Mr President from different political platforms, we have put our machinery ready to fully kick‑start. Very soon, I will inaugurate the campaign team for Tinubu in the FCT and Rivers State, which I will lead. All elements of the APC are ready, Mr President is ready, we are ready, and you can see the enthusiasm,” he said.
Addressing critics, Wike said that visible development projects would translate into electoral support in the FCT. He dismissed allegations of electoral malpractice, arguing that the administration’s infrastructure record would secure victory for APC candidates, including Senator Philip Aduda and the territory’s two House of Representatives seats.
On the road project, the minister assured stakeholders that adequate funding would be disbursed to guarantee completion by December. He added that delivering functional infrastructure remains the cornerstone of good governance and public satisfaction, and thanked Tinubu for his sustained support for capital projects in the territory.
