Paris Saint‑Germain forward Ousmane Dembele has publicly backed his teammate Khivicha Kvaratskhelia as the best player to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, saying the Georgian‑born winger deserves the award.
Both Dembele and Kvaratskhelia have been named to the 30‑man nominees’ list for this year’s prestigious trophy, which will be presented at a ceremony in London on 26 October.
In a statement ahead of the event, Dembele praised Kvaratskhelia’s performances, adding that he would be “happy for him to be the Ballon d’Or.” He went on to say, “In my view, he deserves this.”
“Kvaratskhelia is the best player in the world, I’d be happy for him to be the Ballon d’Or,” Dembele said. “In my view, he deserves this.”
Paris Saint‑Germain finished the previous season as champions of both LaLiga and the Champions League, a double that has bolstered the club’s reputation on the European stage.
